Our Christmas starts with the PJ tradition. I love how excited kids get to go to bed on Christmas. We should have a Santa visit every night. At about 11 pm on Christmas Eve I was getting things ready for Santa and I hear Dane "Mom I think I'm going to puke" He was so worried about not sleeping that he had made himself sick. So next year we are making sure he understands that he just has to be in bed not necessarily asleep. Thankfully Santa did arrive.
Grandpa Sid spent Christmas with us this year. We love having him come to visit. He spoiled us rotten this year. He gave each of the boys $100.00 bills. Slater was excited to have another dollar. Dane's eye's did the cartoon pop out. It was awesome. We spent all day Monday in SLC going to every Toy's R Us looking for a specific Lego set. Good thing we didn't find it.
Here is our beautiful family. If you were expecting a Christmas card don't feel bad if you didn't get one. I didn't send one. I really couldn't put this year on paper. So I'm in search of family traditions for us. This year I decided we would go to a movie on Christmas day. I put on my new Christmas clothes and told the family "let's go to the movie." Dane whined about having to leave his toys and Mark was tired and I wondered what I was thinking. I finally understand why my Mom always bought DVD's for Christmas, no need to go out to a movie. So our tradition now stands as staying in on Christmas day.
We went to SLC to get together with my family after Christmas. We all got together at Dad's. I think this is the first time we've all been together there since Mom's funeral. It was so nice to be together but I sure missed her. We played the Wii and were all laughing and having fun and I just kept thinking how much she would have loved it. I'm sure she was there in spirit. Aunt Synda did a good job spoiling my boys.
She found the coveted Lego set we had been searching for since Dane had received his $100.00 bill. Dane is an avid Lego builder. He put together 4 sets from Saturday to Wednesday. They were not small sets either. He didn't need any help. All in all it was a great Holiday. I hope yours was as good.
